Book a Table, Food for Thought Book a Table, Food for Thought Book a Table, Food for Thought Book a Table, Food for Thought

This is a concept design for the exhibition “Book a Table, Food for Thought”.

Echoing the Hong Kong Book Fair 2025 theme "Reading the World: Food Culture • Future Living," this exhibition explores the relationships between dining etiquette, food customs, and cultural identity, illustrating how dining experiences serve as vital platforms for interpersonal exchange and cultural dialogue.

Food transcends mere satisfaction of appetite, embodying emotional comfort, community bonds, and regional cultural heritage. Through guided tours, workshops, and sharing sessions during the exhibition, interactive displays vividly demonstrate how the dining table records social changes and preserves cultural memories. The exhibition focuses on contemporary issues: from table waste to sustainable production, from eating habits to environmental impacts, guiding audiences to consider how today's dining choices affect future living.

The visual concept of the top of the shot of the opened book standing, the pages of the book are visualised as radial. The radial is also echoing with the rounded dining table and the lazy-susan above, also known as the key installation in the centre of the exhibition, to showcase the books and exhibits.
The simple geometry graphics are yet strong and impactful, catching attention from passersby, and they also correspond to the futuristic theme of the exhibition curation and the spatial laboratory-like design.
